Overview:
The BetaFPV P1 Air Unit HD VTX is a compact digital FPV transmission system designed to bring high-definition video to lightweight drones and micro builds. Developed as part of the ArtLynk digital video ecosystem, it provides a clear 1080p live feed with low latency while maintaining a small footprint suitable for whoops and compact FPV aircraft.
At the core of the system is a lightweight air unit paired with a compact HD camera featuring a 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor and a wide 170° field of view, producing a detailed and immersive FPV image. The system delivers 1080p video at up to 60fps, providing smooth real-time footage for responsive flight and improved situational awareness compared with traditional analogue video systems.
Using the ArtLynk protocol, the P1 Air Unit is designed to maintain stable digital transmission with approximately 60ms latency and a potential range of over 5km in optimal conditions, helping pilots maintain a reliable connection during longer flights or in challenging environments.
Despite its HD capabilities, the system remains exceptionally light, with the air unit and camera weighing only around 6.5g (excluding the antenna). This makes it particularly well-suited to lightweight FPV drones where minimising weight is critical for flight performance.
The P1 Air Unit also features a standard SH1.0 6-pin connection, allowing straightforward integration with Betaflight-based flight controllers and compatible BETAFPV hardware. With Canvas Mode OSD support and simple installation, it provides an accessible digital FPV option for pilots looking to upgrade from analogue systems without adding significant weight or complexity to their build.
